2 Day Golden Monkey Trekking and Dian Fossey Tomb Visit

This 2-day tour will take you to Volcanoes National Park where you will enjoy Golden Monkey trekking, passing through the Jungle, Visit the tomb of Dian Fossey and her Beloved Gorillas.
Day 1: Pick up from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park and Golden Monkey Trekking

Your 2-day tour begins with a morning departure from Kigali at 4:30am, followed by a scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills to Musanze, the gateway to the Virunga volcanoes.
Upon arrival at Kinigi park headquarter, have a briefing before heading into the forest for an exciting golden monkey trekking experience. Deep in the bamboo zone, you’ll encounter these lively and endangered primates, known for their playful nature and striking golden-orange fur. Spend a magical hour observing and photographing them in their natural habitat.

After the trek, relax over lunch in One of the Local Restaurants. In the afternoon, choose to unwind or immerse yourself in local culture with an optional visit to Gorilla Guardian Village known as Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village, where traditional dances, storytelling, and community experiences bring Rwanda’s heritage to life. Later Have Dinner and Overnight stay at your hotel.

Day 2: Dian Fossey Tomb Hike and Return to Kigali

After an early breakfast at 6:30am, return to Kinigi Park Office for briefing and the start of your Dian Fossey Tomb Visit. This rewarding trek takes you through dense montane forest along the slopes of the Virunga Mountains to the historic Karisoke Research Center. Along the way, enjoy breathtaking scenery, rich biodiversity, and the chance to spot unique bird species.
At the summit, visit the tomb of Dian Fossey and gain insight into her extraordinary dedication to protecting mountain gorillas. This emotional and inspiring experience connects you deeply to Rwanda’s conservation story. Descend back through the forest, enjoy your lunch and return back to Kigali for your Flight/Hotel.
