This thoughtfully curated 3-day tour weaves together stories of Rwanda’s royal past, poignant moments of remembrance, and thrilling Canopy walk & waterfall in lush rainforest in Nyungwe National Park
Day 1: Cultural Immersion – From Kigali to Nyanza and Butare

Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Kigali, heading south through Rwanda’s famed rolling hills and picturesque tea plantations. The first cultural highlight is the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza, where traditional architecture, royal customs, and the majestic Inyambo cows bring Rwanda’s pre-colonial history to life. Continuing to Huye, you’ll visit the Ethnographic Museum, showcasing Rwanda’s cultural, artistic, and historical treasures. The day also includes a sobering visit to the Murambi Genocide Memorial, offering space for reflection and remembrance. After this rich cultural immersion, you’ll enjoy lunch en route before continuing toward Nyungwe. As you approach the forest, keep an eye out for playful monkeys and stunning panoramic views. Check in at a serene forest resort, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by the peaceful sounds of Nyungwe.

Day 2: Aerial Adventures Canopy Walk in Nyungwe National Park + (Optional Colobous Monkey)

After breakfast, you’ll head to the Nyungwe park reception for a short briefing before embarking on one of the most thrilling experiences in Rwanda the Nyungwe Canopy Walk. Suspended 50 meters above the forest floor and stretching 200 meters in length, this breathtaking bridge offers panoramic views of the ancient rainforest. From above the treetops, you might spot birds, monkeys, and the vibrant flora that make this forest so unique.

(OPTIONAL: After Canopy walk, you’ll continue deeper into the forest for the Colobus Monkey Trail, guided by an expert ranger. This scenic trail leads through tranquil groves and bamboo thickets, where you’ll have the rare chance to encounter the Angolan black-and-white colobus monkeys. These striking, long-haired primates are often seen in large troops, leaping gracefully from branch to branch. It’s a photographer’s dream and a nature lover’s delight.)

As the day winds down, enjoy the tranquility of the park. Whether you choose to rest, take a stroll, or engage with the local community, your time in Nyungwe will leave you with a deeper connection to Rwanda’s natural beauty.

Day 3: Nature’s Wonders – Waterfall Hike and Return to Kigali

Your final day also will start after breakfast, followed by a guided hike to the
Ndambarare Waterfall, one of the most photogenic and tranquil spots in Nyungwe. This 3- to 4-hour trail begins with scenic tea plantations and leads you deep into the forest, where you'll be accompanied by the melodic calls of birds and glimpses of forest wildlife. Upon reaching the waterfall, take time to relax, soak in the mist, and enjoy the lush surroundings. After the hike, you'll have lunch at the park’s restaurant before beginning your journey back to Kigali.
