This is not a pony ride, and it is not a staged village stop. It is a single continuous journey on horseback that links the bush to the people who have always lived alongside it.
You start at the stables with a calm safety briefing and are matched to a horse for your experience level; complete beginners welcome. From there, your guide leads you out along open trails where approaching wildlife on horseback (rather than in a noisy vehicle) lets you get remarkably close; plains game often barely lift their heads. Your guide reads tracks, explains the ecosystem, and sets the pace to your comfort.
The ride delivers you to the village itself. Here you are hosted by community members, not performed at. Depending on the day, you might help prepare a traditional dish, sit for a meal, hear the oral history of the area, or watch a craft being made and try it yourself. A portion of every booking goes directly to the community, and you will know exactly how.
You return by vehicle or a shorter ride, depending on the option booked. You leave having done something most visitors to the Falls never do: arrived somewhere on your own two… four hooves, and actually connected.
