Discover the beauty of Mengalum Island on a day trip from Kota Kinabalu. Snorkel in crystal-clear waters, relax on sandy beaches, or add on a scenic cruise along the Mengkabong River with buffet meal.
Begin your day with a convenient hotel pickup and transfer to the Kota Kinabalu jetty. Check in and complete island registration procedures at the jetty. Then, board a speedboat and set off to Mengalum Island, a journey that takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Upon arrival, receive a safety and facilities briefing from your guide. Dive into the crystal-clear waters for a snorkelling session at two different spots, spending approximately 45 minutes at each location.
After snorkeling, return to the island for a local lunch and free time to relax on the white sandy beaches. if selected in the afternoon, depart from Mengalum Island and head back to the city jetty and back to hotel.
Next those chose add on, continue embark on a scenic cruise along the Mengkabong River with local afternoon tea, where you can observe fascinating wildlife, including proboscis monkeys, silver leaf monkeys, and a variety of bird species with another sunset shangri la beach.
Back to the restaurant for another buffet style and head back to the mangrove river to explore fireflies and magical glowing water blue tear. after this, transfer back to hotel with a lifetime adventure.

The boat transfer to Mengalum Island takes approximately one and a half hours, depending on sea conditions and wave.
The ride to the island may be a bit challenging depending on the waves, so prepare seasickness medication if necessary.
Please be advised that in the wildlife environment, any wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, as it differs greatly from a zoo experience.
If weather not favourable for river cruise it will be cancelled and customers can choose to reschedule or refund (river cruise only).
