Day 1: Punakha Dzong & Sacred River Valley
Travel from Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass, stopping to admire the 108 memorial chortens and Himalayan scenery when visibility permits. Visit Punakha Dzong, the historic fortress at the meeting of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Continue to Punakha Suspension Bridge for scenic river and valley views, then explore the surrounding countryside.

Day 2: Chimi Lhakhang & Traditional Village Life
After breakfast, visit Chimi Lhakhang, the celebrated temple associated with the Buddhist saint Drukpa Kunley. Enjoy a gentle walk through rice fields and traditional farmsteads, observing local architecture and rural life. After lunch, visit Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten if time and walking conditions allow, before returning to Punakha or continuing to your agreed destination.
