Explore the historic city of Tours on a guided walking tour with a local actor. Discover the center, visit the ruins of a Renaissance mansion, and see the house where Joan of Arc received her armor.
Meet your guide in Tours and begin your journey through the city’s rich history. Start at the famous Plumereau Square, the medieval heart of the city. Wander through narrow streets lined with limestone and brick houses, learning about the history of the city and its fairytale architecture.
Next, head to the old "Martinopole," a major pilgrimage site in the Middle Ages, often referred to as the "Jerusalem of the West."
Continue to the ruins of a Renaissance mansion and see the house where Joan of Arc received her armor. Discover the "foire le Roi" square, created by King François I, the same king who brought Leonardo da Vinci to France.
Finish your tour in the oldest part of Tours, home to the Saint-Gatien Cathedral and a well-preserved Roman wall.
