Cruise along the Mekong River on a 2-day slow boat journey from Huay Xai to Luang Prabang. Stop overnight in Pak Beng, admire riverside villages, and see the famous Pak Ou Caves.
Day 1: Huay Xai to Pak Beng

Start your journey with a pickup from your hotel in Huay Xai and transfer by minivan to the Huay Xai Slow Boat Pier. Upon arrival, meet the staff, receive travel information, and get help loading your luggage onto the local slow boat.

Depart from Huay Xai and begin your scenic journey along the Mekong River. Relax on board and enjoy views of lush landscapes, rocky riverbanks, and traditional villages. Along the way, observe local life along the river and experience the peaceful atmosphere of this famous Southeast Asian route.

Arrive in Pak Beng, where you will spend the night. Book your accommodation in Pak Beng in advance, especially during the high season, or ask your tour guide for accommodation recommendations.

Day 2: Pak Beng to Luang Prabang

In the morning, make your way from your accommodation back to the pier to board the slow boat for the second day of your journey. Continue traveling downstream toward Luang Prabang. Enjoy more beautiful views of the Mekong River, traditional riverside villages, and the surrounding natural landscape.

During the journey, see the famous Pak Ou Caves (Tham Ting), located near the mouth of the Ou River. The caves are known for their many Buddha images. Depending on the river route and visibility, view the caves from the boat and take photographs.

Arrive in Luang Prabang, marking the end of your two-day Mekong River slow boat adventure.
