Day 1: Houay Xay to Pak Beng
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Houay Xay or meet your guide at the immigration point if you’re crossing from Thailand. Board the boat and set off on your cruise.
Enjoy a traditional Lao lunch onboard, with complimentary coffee, tea, drinking water, and hot water. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are available for purchase.
Stop at a local hill tribe village to observe daily life, traditional homes, and a community school. Arrive in the charming riverside town of Pak Beng around 4:30 – 5:00 PM. Enjoy the evening at your leisure.
Day 2: Pak Beng to Luang Prabang
Depart from Pak Beng pier at 8:00 AM for a scenic downstream cruise. Enjoy views of lush green mountains, wildlife, and seasonal river life along the Mekong.
Savor a freshly prepared Lao lunch served at 12:00 PM. Stop at Ban Bo Village, home of the Lao Loum tribe, known for handicrafts and traditional Lao whisky (lao-lao) making.
Next, explore the sacred Tham Ting Caves, housing over 4,000 Buddha statues, a spiritual site especially visited during Lao New Year (Pimai Lao). Disembark in Luang Prabang at around 4:30 – 5:00 PM and be transferred to your hotel within the city.
