Take part in a pottery workshop led by local trainers. Rather than simply watching a demonstration, get involved in the creative process and discover how handmade pottery is produced. Learn how to prepare the material, form a simple object, and add your own creative touches. Depending on the workshop arrangement, you may also have the opportunity to decorate or finish your creation.

Meet the trainers and learn about their work. Through their skills and dedication, they demonstrate the value of handmade traditions and the importance of creating opportunities for people with disabilities. You will also have time to appreciate the handmade products and learn more about the centre’s activities. If available, you may be able to purchase locally made souvenirs, providing an additional way to support the community.

After the pottery workshop, continue to Pakaything Gym for an introduction to Lao boxing, a traditional martial art known for its physical strength, discipline, and cultural importance. Lao boxing is more than a sport. It reflects values such as respect, determination, concentration, and perseverance. At the gym, you will have the opportunity to discover these values through a closer look at local training practices.

Observe a training session, meet practitioners, and learn about the techniques and movements used in Lao boxing. Depending on the gym’s schedule and arrangements, you may also have the opportunity to try some basic movements under the guidance of a trainer.

Your guide will explain the background of Lao boxing and help you understand how traditional martial arts remain part of Lao cultural life. You will also learn about the importance of training, respect for instructors, and the dedication required to develop physical and mental strength.

Finally, visit Buddha Park, one of the most unusual and memorable attractions near Vientiane. Located in a peaceful setting, the park is home to a remarkable collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures. As you explore the grounds, you will see statues of different sizes and forms, each contributing to the park’s distinctive atmosphere. The sculptures reflect religious ideas, artistic creativity, and stories connected to Buddhist and Hindu traditions.
