From Oaxaca: One day in Puerto Escondido

From Oaxaca visit the Puerto Escondido beaches and liberate a baby turttle.
We depart from Oaxaca early to head down the highway towards Puerto Escondido, where we will embark on a boat tour to explore the main beaches: Zicatela, Puerto Angelito, Manzanillo, Coral Beach. Later, we will sail offshore in search of the chance to spot turtles and dolphins.
Next, we visit the Benito Juárez market, where we will enjoy a unique sensory experience among the authentic flavors, scents, textures, and colors of the region. Exploring its aisles will captivate us with its diversity and provide us with the opportunity to acquire souvenirs.
We continue with a visit to a mezcal distillery, where we will delve into the artisanal process of its production and taste various varieties. We will also sample local products such as chocolate, coffee, jam, honey, and mole.
Afterward, we will take a walking tour to admire the local handicrafts and capture images from the main viewpoints of Puerto Escondido. We will not miss visiting the renowned surf beach, Zicatela, as well as a workshop for looms and typical clothing of the region.
At the end of the day, we will head to a turtle camp, where we will live an unforgettable experience interacting with sea turtles, endangered species. Three out of the eight existing species inhabit the Oaxacan coast. We will have the opportunity to contribute to the return of some newly hatched turtles to their natural habitat. There is no better way to help nature than by protecting its little creatures and being part of this magnificent adventure, with a unique sunset backdrop on the beach.
After this exciting experience, we will return to the city of Oaxaca.
