Day 1: Ulaanbaatar – Kharkhorin – Erdene Zuu Monastery

Depart Ulaanbaatar in the morning and journey across Mongolia's vast open steppe to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Mongol Empire. Visit the magnificent Erdene Zuu Monastery, Mongolia's oldest surviving Buddhist monastery, and explore the fascinating Karakorum Museum, where you'll learn about the history of the ancient capital.

Continue to Hustai National Park, home to the world's last truly wild population of Takhi (Przewalski's horses). Search for these rare horses along with marmots, red deer, birds of prey, and other native wildlife while enjoying a scenic walk through the park.
