Day 1: Ulaanbaatar to Ölgii & Drive to Sagsai
Begin your adventure with a morning domestic flight from Ulaanbaatar to Ölgii. Meet your local Kazakh guide and drive to Sagsai village, the heartland of eagle falconry. Arrive at the host Eagle Hunter’s home, settle into a traditional ger (yurt), and share evening Kazakh tea and meals.
Day 2: Eagle Hunter Immersion & Demonstration
Spend the day learning how golden eagles are trained, fed, and handled. Enjoy a morning photo shoot with the hunter in traditional fur attire with his eagle on horseback. Watch eagle training demonstrations, including lure dragging and recall. Participate in nomadic family activities, such as herding and traditional crafts.
Day 3: Horseback Ride into the Altai Foothills
Ride horses into the surrounding mountains alongside the eagle hunter to see where they scout for prey, such as foxes and hares. In the evening, return to Ölgii town and stay at a local hotel or ger camp.
