Arrive at the great dunes of the Rub al Khali as the light turns amber. Climb a high crest for sunset — the sand shifting from gold to rose to violet as the sun sinks into an ocean of dunes — with traditional Arabic coffee and dates served as you watch. Then stay: when the last light fades, the desert reveals its second sky.
