DAY 1 CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES
We will pick you up at 08:00 am and then drive for 1.5 hours to the town of Ollantaytambo, located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will take our train to Aguas Calientes, enjoying the beautiful scenery during the train ride. Upon arriving in Aguas Calientes, we will have free time to explore the small town on our own and have lunch at one of the local restaurants (not included). In the evening, we will have dinner with the group and talk about our plans for tomorrow with our guide. We will spend the night in a hotel in Aguas Calientes.
DAY 2 HOT WATERS – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Early in the morning we will take the bus that will take us to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, the “Lost City of the Incas”. This complex is considered a jewel of Inca architecture. It is a complete city with different neighborhoods, squares, alleys, buildings, astronomical observatories and terraces. The city was rediscovered on July 24, 1911 by the American researcher Hiram Bingham. We will learn everything about the Inca civilization and interesting facts about this sacred place. After a guided tour, we will have enough time to explore this magical place on our own.
For those who have previously selected to climb Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, they will do so at the designated time (1st group: 6am to 8am, 2nd group: 9am to 11am).
Later, we will take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will have lunch at a local restaurant. We will take our train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transfer staff will pick us up and take us back to Cusco.
