Meet your guide at Marina de La Paz and board the boat. Head out on a short ride of about 15 minutes toward the whale shark area. Once the crew locates the animals, receive guidance on how to enter the water safely and respectfully.

Unlike larger commercial operations, our tour is crafted around an exclusive small-group format. By keeping guest count low, we maximize your time in the water, giving you significantly more direct, unhurried interaction with the whale sharks without feeling crowded.

Enter the water with a certified bilingual marine guide, helping keep the encounter personal, relaxed, and memorable. If you prefer not to swim, you can stay onboard and watch comfortably from the shaded vessel.

Use premium snorkel gear, fins, a life jacket, and a 3 mm shorty wetsuit as you take in this remarkable marine setting. Your guide will capture underwater photos and video during the experience, so you can stay focused on the moment.

Federal access bracelets, park permits, and local conservation support are included, along with fresh local snacks, soft drinks and water onboard. The tour finishes back at Marina de La Paz after the boat returns to shore.

Please Note Regarding Local Regulations & Scheduling:Whale shark encounters take place inside a strictly regulated natural protected area managed under local federal permits. The area opens only when a minimum threshold of 10 whale sharks are present, and entry is capped at 14 authorized boats per window. Operations run across four strict daily time slots (8:00 AM–11:00 AM, 11:00 AM–1:00 PM, 1:00 PM–3:00 PM, and 3:00 PM–5:00 PM), and no entry is allowed outside these hours.

Because official slots are allocated through a daily municipal permitting system—morning slots are granted late the afternoon prior, and same-day afternoon slots are released at 8:00 AM—we cannot guarantee a specific departure time in advance. Exact departure times are subject to local bureaucratic assignment. We ask all guests to maintain flexibility on tour day, and our team will confirm your exact departure time as soon as park authorities assign our slot (either the afternoon before or the morning of your tour).
