Ebro Delta: Birding and Bird Photography in a Van

Explore the Ebro Delta by van, observe and photograph birds in unique lagoons, salt pans, and wetlands with an expert guide and included materials.
Experience the Ebro Delta in its purest form with this birding and bird photography tour. The meeting point is in La Ràpita, where the activity begins and ends. We'll start the tour at the Ullals de Baltasar, a wetland with crystal clear waters that's home to endemic species such as the Spanish toothcarp and the Valencian toothcarp. We'll continue to the Encanyissada and Tancada lagoons, stopping at their viewpoints to observe birds and learn about the Pantena, a traditional fishing technique.

The itinerary continues through the Embut filter, a key space for bird nesting, and the old salt pans of Sant Antoni, where flamingos are a common sight. Finally, we'll arrive at Trabucador, a 6 km sand isthmus that separates the Mediterranean from the Bay of Alfaques.

Along the way, you'll cross rice fields, wetlands, brackish areas, and sandbanks, discovering a network of paths, canals, and drains that make up this unique ecosystem. Depending on the time of year, you'll be able to spot migratory, wintering, or breeding species, totaling up to more than 300 different species. Herons, flamingos, ibis, mallards, grebes, coots, stilt, and many more await you in this unforgettable experience for nature and photography lovers.
