Hosted at a local Houston distillery, this hands-on cooking class starts with the foundation: you’ll learn how to properly wash and cook white or brown rice using two different methods for consistent, fluffy results. Next, you’ll sharpen your knife skills with safe handling and different cuts for vegetables and fish, while learning how to prevent cross-contamination when working with raw fish.

Then comes the good stuff. You’ll prepare sushi-grade ahi tuna in a savory soy, ginger and sesame marinade made with low-sodium soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, red pepper flakes, green onions and sesame seeds. Finally, you’ll assemble your bowl with rice, avocado, cucumber, edamame, carrots and radish. The class is beginner-friendly and relaxed, with practical techniques you can take straight home.
