The taste of Yerevan: Beer, Wines & Signiture Gelato tasting

Meet your guide at Republic Square in the heart of Yerevan and get an introduction to the city’s historical facts. Continue via Pavstos Buzan Street, exploring the contrast of contemporary and 200-year-old buildings side by side.

Along the way, the tour will be followed by interesting facts about Yerevan city and its history.

Afterwards, walk through Diana Abgar Park to enjoy the recent renovation of the park. Stop to have a short tasting of local craft beer with a snack before continuing toward Saryan Street, a favourite hangout zone for the new generation.

Continue exploring Yerevan by tasting local wines. We will visit one of the first wine stores with a wine-tasting concept. Sink into wine history and learn about local wine culture and how old it is. You will taste 5 different wines with aperitifs.

Once you’ve sunk into the local culture, continue walk via back streets to right in front of the Prime Minister's Residence, walk by the Parliament building and learn some local gossip about political figures. Get a short introduction to Armenia’s current government and check out the architectural masterpieces of early Soviet Armenia before it became grey and boring.

Next, take a ride on the local subway trains to another district in the center called Youth (Yeritasardakan) Station. Walk toward a local small bakery to taste a local and traditional food called Zhengyalov Hats (super thin flatbread stuffed with vegetables/plants).

Finish your tour with a visit to a tiny ice cream /gelato shop where you can taste all the signature gelatos by a local gelato maker. Try the gelato named after the city, “Yerevan Jan” flavoured with Ararat brandy, walnuts and several other special ingredients, which you may discover by tasting it. There are many other signiture gelato options available to taste. It's one of the must-try spots on the tour.
