Tekapo Shuttle: Mt Cook Day Tour via Pukaki & Tasman Lake

Experience the freedom of exploring Mount Cook National Park on a day trip from Tekapo. Maximize your time, allowing you to take in the Hooker Valley Track and Tasman glacier track.

* Operating year-round with no minimum passenger requirement and a capacity of up to 60 passengers, our shuttle lets you enjoy this self-guided walk at your own pace and share this unforgettable experience with fellow travellers.
* We should be able to increase the capacity even if the booking shows full or sold out. Please contact us for further details.

-Itinerary-
Meeting point - 8:00 AM (Sep-May) or 8:30 AM (June-Aug) -
The meeting point for our tour is either the car park at the Tekapo Four Square supermarket or the public parking area next to the supermarket.

Peter’s lookout
One of the best views of Lake Pukaki and Aoraki(Mt Cook),and the surrounding Southern Alps is absolutely stunning, making it a must-visit spot.

Hermitage Hotel -10:00 AM or later in winter-
If you prefer not to participate in the hiking activity, you can choose to disembark at the hotel and reassemble at 3 PM.

Tasman Glacier View Track or Tasman River Track – 10:15 AM
Choose between two walking options. Your guide will recommend the best track on the day. The Tasman Glacier View Track offers spectacular views of the Tasman Glacier and Tasman Lake, with approximately 300 steps. Alternatively, the Tasman River Track provides an easier walk, with the chance to spot icebergs on the lake if you are lucky.

Hooker Valley Track – 11:30 AM
Experience one of New Zealand’s most spectacular alpine walks, surrounded by glaciers, mountains, and breathtaking scenery.
The average return walking time is approximately 3 hours.
Once you finish your hike, our complimentary shuttle operates every 30 minutes between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM, taking you from Hooker Valley Car Park to Mt Cook Village. You are free to return to the village on any shuttle that suits you and enjoy your free time until the tour departs.

*Track access is subject to change due to weather conditions and unforeseen maintenance work by the Department of Conservation (DOC).
Please check with our friendly driver on the day to confirm availability.

Hermitage Hotel 3:00 PM
Please gather in front of the hotel at 3 pm to return to Lake Tekapo. If you are engaged in another activity or require pickup from a different location, please inform the driver on the day of the tour.

Lake Pukaki 4:00 PM
A brief stop is scheduled at Lake Pukaki, allowing time for taking photos and visiting the Alpine Salmon Shop.

Lake Tekapo 4:30-5:00 PM
The group returns to the village around 5:00pm.
Please ask our driver if you require a drop-off at your accommodation.

- REFUND POLICY UPDATE -
Guests can receive a full refund due to complete track closures, DOC maintenance or other unforeseen events.
