Explore Siem Reap on a 3-day private tour with guide. Visit Angkor National Park, Sunrise at Wat, Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm, Koh Ker, Beng Mealea, and the floating villages of Tonle Sap Lake.
Day 1: Small Tour (Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Ta Prohm, Bonteay Kdei)
Begin your adventure with possible for sunrise at Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. Marvel at the intricate carvings and stunning architecture as the sun rises over the temple. Continue to Angkor Thom city, the last capital of the Khmer Empire, and explore its impressive gates and Bayon temple.
Next, visit Ta Prohm temple, also known as the Tomb Raider temple, where ancient trees intertwine with the ruins. End the day at Bonteay Kdei, a ruin and peaceful temple surrounded by lush greenery.
Day 2: Big Tour (Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Sam, Bonteay Srei and Pre Rup)
On the second day, visit Preah Khan, a sprawling temple complex with intricate carvings and hidden passageways. Preah Khan translates to the Royal Sword or the Holy Sword and is a 12th century Buddhist temple. The temple was built by King Jayavarman VII to honour his father and was built on site of the victory over the invading Cham armies in 1191 AD. Continue to Neak Pean temple, a unique island temple surrounded by a moat and known as hospital temple.
Next, explore Ta Sam, a small temple with beautiful carvings. Then, continue driving 25km away from Angkor city to visit Bonteay Srei temple, a unique pink sandstone temple known for its exquisite carvings. Last, visit Pre Rup temple, Pre Rup is a 10th century Hindu temple built by King Rajendravarman. The temple mountain is underrated and not as widely visited as other temples in the area. However, the beautiful brick structure is a must-see for anyone visiting region.
Day 3: Beng Mealea, Koh Ker, and Floating Village
On the final day, venture outside the Angkor area around 120 km to visit Beng Mealea, a jungle temple that has been left largely unrestored. The “Jungle Temple” was built on an ancient highway and was an important temple in the history of the Khmer empire. Nowadays, it mostly lays in ruins and the jungle has literally taken over. This is where the nickname “Jungle Temple” comes from.
Continue driving around to Koh Ker temple or Linga Pura Capital city, a remote temple complex with a towering pyramid. The city of Koh Ker was the capital of the Khmer Empire between 928 AD and 944AD during the reigns of Jayavarman IV and Harshavarman II.
End the tour with a visit to a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake, where you can see traditional Khmer stilt houses and learn about the local way of life and fishing material.
