Opis

Discover the art of halloumi making, taste local wines, and explore the charming villages of Lefkara and Fikardou on a guided tour from Larnaca. Enjoy a traditional meze lunch to end your day.
Begin your day with a pickup from Larnaca and head to the Machairas Mountains. Your first stop is a family-owned farm, where you will be warmly welcomed by the owner. Explore the farm and meet the animals that provide milk for cheese-making.

During your visit, learn how traditional halloumi and anari are made, then enjoy a delicious brunch at the farm with fresh cheese, carob honey, local bread, olives and other local products.

Next, visit Ktima Christoudia, a family-run winery in Kato Drys. Learn how local wine is made and taste a selection of wines made from Cypriot grape varieties.

From there, we will visit an exhibition dedicated to Lefkara Lace, also known as Lefkaritika. See historic examples of Lefkara lace, including tablecloths, napkins, altar cloths, and decorative pieces made in the three traditional colors: white, brown/beige, and ecru. Admire their beautiful geometric patterns, as well as floral and nature-inspired designs.

During the visit, watch a live demonstration of traditional lace-making and see the skill and detail that goes into each piece, with both sides looking almost identical.

Afterwards, explore Lefkara, voted one of the 30 most beautiful towns in Europe. Visit a local lace and silver workshop and enjoy a short walk through the village’s charming cobbled streets and narrow alleys.

Then, we will stop at Terra Oliva Organic Olive Farm for an authentic olive oil tasting experience. Surrounded by beautiful olive trees, we will discover locally produced organic olive oil, taste traditional olive products, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Cypriot countryside.

Our last stop is the picturesque village of Fikardou, a historic village dating back to the 16th century. The village has been carefully restored to preserve its traditional character and today feels like a living museum. Fikardou is also included on UNESCO’s Tentative List of World Heritage Sites.

Finally, finish the tour at a traditional tavern, where you will enjoy a delicious Cypriot meze with a variety of local dishes. Vegetarian options are also available.
