Day 1: Indigenous Culture and Mountain Landscapes
Begin your adventure early in the morning with hotel pickup in Santa Marta. Travel by 4x4 vehicle through the mountains near Minca, enjoying beautiful sunrise views, coffee plantations, and changing scenery.
After breakfast, begin your trek with a descent toward the Indigenous community of Wimake. There, local hosts will welcome you with a traditional lunch and introduce you to their customs, architecture, worldview, and way of life.
If weather conditions allow, enjoy a natural swimming pool before dinner. Spend the night in hammocks inside the community.
Day 2: Forest Trails and Rural Hospitality
After breakfast, begin a more demanding hike through humid forest, giant trees, and tropical vegetation. The trail gradually climbs deeper into the mountains, offering opportunities to observe birds, local flora, and hidden natural pools.
At the end of the hike, arrive at a local farm where your hosts will welcome you with a traditional lunch, coffee or tea, and a comfortable place to rest. Spend the night in beds.
Day 3: Sacred Waterfalls and Coffee Traditions
The third day combines waterfalls, mountain culture, and some of the most beautiful scenery of the trek. The first stop is Blue Pool, a natural swimming spot surrounded by forest.
From there, continue toward Nymejan Waterfall, a sacred place for local communities and one of the highlights of the trek. Visit Honey Waterfall and Coffee Waterfall while learning about traditional sugar cane and coffee production in the mountains.
End the day at Palace of the Clouds, a beautiful mountain farm with incredible panoramic views. Spend the night in beds.
Day 4: Sea of Clouds and Return to Santa Marta
Begin the final day with sunrise above a sea of clouds. After breakfast, hike toward the highest point of the trek at 2,220 meters above sea level.
Begin your descent through cattle farms, cloud forest, and panoramic mountain landscapes. Along the way, learn about local cheese production and enjoy a coffee tasting with a rural family.
After lunch, continue downhill before returning to Santa Marta in the evening.
