During your free time, cross the border (also known as the “Green Line”) that divides the Cypriot capital city of Nicosia into the southern Greek-Cypriot region and the northern Turkish-Cypriot region since the Turkish invasion in 1974. The Turkish-occupied part of Nicosia that remains in a time-lock also has many interesting places to visit.

Only citizens of European Union Countries can use their National Identity Cards to cross the checkpoint.
Armenian, Syrian, Nigerian, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal citizens cannot cross the checkpoint without a special visa.
Ukrainian citizens with refugee status in Cyprus are not allowed to cross the checkpoint.
Greek citizens with old handwritten National Identity Cards cannot cross the checkpoint.
