NAOKO FUKUMOTO started her piano studies at the Berlin University of the Arts in the piano class of Prof. Georg Sava. In 2005, she passed her concert exam with distinction at the "Hanns Eisler" Academy of Music in Berlin. In 2004, she won 3rd prize at the Artur Schnabel Piano Competition in Berlin, 5th prize at the International Music Competition "Pacem in Terris" in Bayreuth and the special prize for French composition at the International Piano Competition d'Escaldes-Engordany in Andorra. As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed in Germany, Spain, Japan, and Korea, most recently with great success as an excellent Chopin interpreter at classical music festivals in 2010 and 2011 in Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich. In 2012, she played all of Beethoven's piano sonatas in Berlin and Munich. She's a lecturer at the Leo Borchard Music School in Berlin.
