Over the course of around 100 minutes, you’ll experience first-hand how a modern electric vehicle is built, step by step, from a car body. You’ll not only discover fascinating technology, but also gain exciting insights into the inner workings of a vehicle.

Together with our production staff, you’ll get to the bottom of questions that motorists rarely ask themselves: How is a car body made both sturdy and flexible? What lies beneath the paintwork? How do airbags actually work? And how is it ensured that every single component fits perfectly during assembly?

What makes this particularly exciting is that our staff provide first-hand accounts of their day-to-day work, explain selected assembly steps and share the odd interesting anecdote. State-of-the-art robotics, precision and innovative manufacturing techniques are brought to life and made easy to understand.

You’re actively encouraged to touch, try things out and get involved. With a bit of luck, you might even get to take the reins yourself and trigger a production step. Time often flies by faster than you’d like.

To round off your visit, our experience centre features exciting concept cars and the latest models from the all-electric ID. family. And if you’d like to end your visit on a relaxed note, you can stop off at the Speisewerk restaurant. Among other things, a true classic awaits you there: the legendary Volkswagen currywurst.
