Opis

Join this festival experience that only locals can access during this limited time. Learn its history, play traditional music, walk in the parade, and share a drink with locals.
Step into a side of Japan that most visitors never see. For just a few days each summer, you’ll join a festival experience usually reserved for locals.

Meet your guide, a local who has been playing festival music since she was three years old. Your experience begins at the museum, where you’ll learn the origins, history, and cultural meaning behind the Tachineputa Festival—known for its towering floats reaching up to 23 meters high.

Next, take part in a hands-on music workshop. Try traditional instruments such as drums, flutes, and bells, and discover the rhythms that bring the parade to life. Choose your favorite instrument, and prepare to step outside.

Then, you won’t just watch—you’ll join. Walk alongside the parade, play music, and become part of the festival itself. Held only from August 4th to 8th each year, this experience is not open to general participants. But with your guide, you’ll be welcomed in. Walk for up to three hours, taking breaks whenever you like.

As night falls and the floats glow against the summer sky, most visitors head home. But you’ll stay. At the end of the night, sit down with local organizers and performers. Share drinks, stories, and laughter, and experience the festival not as a tourist—but as part of the community.

This is more than a festival. It’s a moment of belonging.
