Your own licensed WWII expert guide leads this private D-Day shore excursion from Le Havre, our most complete tour. It follows the timeline of Operation Overlord on June 6, 1944, from the Rangers who scaled the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc at dawn to the 9,387 soldiers who rest above Omaha Beach, and ends inside one of the finest WWII collections in Normandy.

Your day starts with pickup at the Le Havre cruise terminal, your hotel or the train station. The drive along the coast takes about 1h45, and your guide uses this time to set the scene of the largest seaborne invasion in history.

At Pointe du Hoc you walk among the original bomb craters and German bunkers where U.S. Army Rangers scaled 100 foot cliffs under fire. At Omaha Beach you stand on the sand made famous by Saving Private Ryan while your guide explains why this beach became the deadliest of the invasion.

After a lunch break near the beach (not included, your guide recommends the best local spots), you visit the Normandy American Cemetery in Colleville, where white marble crosses and Stars of David overlook the sea in perfect rows.

The day ends at the Overlord Museum, right next to the cemetery. Its collection of original tanks, jeeps, artillery, uniforms and personal belongings brings the reality of the Battle of Normandy to life in a way no battlefield alone can. Your entrance tickets are included.
