Full Description
Start your journey from Tbilisi and head into the wild and untouched mountains of Khevsureti, one of the most remote and authentic regions of the Caucasus.

Make your first stop at the picturesque Zhinvali Reservoir, surrounded by impressive mountain scenery and turquoise waters. Soon after, continue to the historic Ananuri Fortress, a medieval fortress complex overlooking the reservoir and one of Georgia’s most famous landmarks.

Continue your journey to the beautiful mountain resort of Gudauri, known for its panoramic views of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Along the route, enjoy breathtaking landscapes, deep gorges, waterfalls and alpine landscapes. We can see the Gudauri panorama if we skip Abudelauri lakes

Enter the depths of Khevsureti, where the atmosphere changes completely. Here, modern civilization is slowly disappearing and ancient mountain life still survives among stone villages and impressive peaks.

In Chargali, we visit the Vazha Pshavela House Museum.
Vazha Pshavela wrote the famous poem “Guest and Host,” which is still considered one of the main symbols of Georgian culture and character today.

This work strongly reflects the Georgian tradition of hospitality and honor. In the mountains, there was an unwritten law — if someone was your guest, even if you later discovered that he was your sworn enemy, you had no right to harm him, nor allow anyone else to do so. A guest was always under your protection.

In the poem, the main character even stands against his own friends and community because they want to kill his guest. Even though the guest is an enemy, the host considers protecting him a matter of honor.

This story perfectly represents the ethics of old Georgian mountain culture — respect, loyalty to one’s word, protection of guests, and human dignity. That is why “Guest and Host” remains one of the most important works in Georgian culture and leaves a strong impression on foreign visitors even today.

Then we continue our journey to Roshki, where the Abudelauri Lake trails begin.

Abudelauri has 3 lakes, the furthest of which is white Lake, close to the mountain peak. It takes at least 1 hour to walk from the parking lot. It depends on the weather and how fast we walk.

Not all of the places we will visit can be found on the map. That’s why we will see more locations than the ones marked here on the map. Please follow the itinerary and the “What’s Included” section, as it describes more accurately what we will visit.
