The tour begins at Frankfurt's Kleinmarkthalle, a traditional indoor market in the heart of the city. Start with a pretzel and Spundekäs, a creamy cheese spread popular around Frankfurt and closely tied to the area's wine culture. Enjoy it with a glass of wine before continuing with several smaller tastings inside the Kleinmarkthalle.
Explore some of Frankfurt's and Hesse's most characteristic specialties. Get to know Frankfurt Green Sauce through the seven herbs used to make it before tasting the finished sauce later in the tour. Try Ahle Wurst, a traditional Hessian sausage, as well as Frankfurt Rindswurst and Fleischwurst.
Sample Frankfurter Kranz, a cake closely associated with the city, as well as Bethmännchen, a Frankfurt marzipan specialty. An apple-wine chocolate provides another small connection to one of Frankfurt's best-known culinary traditions.
