From Zakynthos: Kefalonia Day Trip with Melissani Lake

Begin your day with a convenient pickup from your resort and head to the port of Agios Nikolaos, Skinari, to board the ferry to Kefalonia. As you travel, catch a glimpse of the Venetian Castle of St. George, the island's capital until the end of the 17th century.

Your first stop is the impressive Drogarati Cave, located outside of Sami. Marvel at the fine stalactites and stalagmites in this 150-million-year-old cave. Next, continue to Melissani Lake and Cave. Take a short boat trip on the lake located within the cave and experience the fantastic colors of the water as the sunlight is reflected through the open roof.

Afterward, head to the town of Agia Efimia. Enjoy some free time here for lunch, a stroll, or souvenir shopping. Then, drive towards Argostoli along the west coast of the island and have a short photo stop at the viewpoint overlooking Myrtos Beach. This is followed by a short break in Argostoli for a nice stroll around the square.

Finally, board the ferry back to Zakynthos and enjoy a convenient transfer back to your resort.
