The workshop takes place in Studio SOIL, a creative hub in central Tokyo that connects artists and designers across different fields.
Just a few minutes’ walk from JR Bakurocho Station, it’s easily accessible from Tokyo Station, Akihabara, Ueno, and Asakusa — perfect to fit into a day of exploring the city.
Within an hour from both Narita and Haneda Airports, it’s the ideal location for travelers who want to experience Japanese culture through creativity.

In this class, friendly instructors guide you in English, making it easy for anyone to enjoy and understand Japanese aesthetics.
You’ll explore composition, form, and color from your own perspective while handling flowers and plants — no strict rules, no pressure, just creative freedom.

The session begins with a short introduction to ikebana’s unique approach to space and balance, reimagined for today’s Tokyo.
Then, under expert guidance, you’ll create your own piece, freely adjusting angles and proportions while discovering the foundations of Japanese beauty.
This is a time to focus on creativity and experimentation — exploring the dynamic relationship between plants, flowers, and your own sense of design.

Once you’ve completed your arrangement, you can photograph your work in the studio’s minimal, light-filled setting — a perfect backdrop that highlights your creation.
You’re also welcome to enjoy a cup of Japanese tea and chat with your instructor about the ideas behind your design or about Tokyo’s vibrant creative culture.
If you’d like, you can take your floral work back to your hotel to enjoy during your stay.

At the studio, you can also purchase authentic Japanese ikebana tools such as scissors, kenzan (pin frogs), and textbooks — items that are rarely available outside Japan.
