This guided hiking tour takes you through birch forests to a summit with views of Mt. Yotei and the Sea of Japan. Enjoy a relaxed, beginner-friendly hike in Niseko, then unwind in a local hot spring.
After meeting your guide at Sapporo Station, we will drive to the Niseko area. During the transfer, your guide will explain the day’s plan, weather conditions, and basic hiking tips, so even first-time hikers can feel comfortable and prepared. Pickup is also available for guests staying in the Niseko area.
Upon arrival at the trailhead, we begin with a short briefing on equipment and walking techniques before setting off. The hike starts through a peaceful birch forest, where soft light filters through the trees. Depending on the season, you may also spot alpine flowers and local wildlife along the way.
As we gain elevation, the landscape gradually opens up, leading to Niseko’s gentle ridgelines. Walking along this section, with wide views and fresh mountain air, is one of the highlights of the tour and offers a true sense of Hokkaido’s vast nature.
At the summit, you will be rewarded with spectacular panoramic views. Mt. Yotei rises beautifully in front of you, and on clear days, you can even see all the way to the Sea of Japan. It’s a breathtaking moment that makes the climb truly worthwhile.
After enjoying the summit, we descend at a relaxed pace along the same trail. Your guide will continue to support you with pacing and footwork, ensuring a safe and comfortable descent.
Following the hike, we will visit a nearby hot spring where you can relax and unwind after your adventure, completing a truly refreshing day.
This tour is suitable for beginners, with approximately 2 hours of ascent and 1.5 hours of descent. A professional guide will ensure safety throughout the tour while sharing insights about hiking techniques and the local natural environment. The tour is available from early summer to late autumn, with beautiful fall foliage typically from late September to early October.
