Nairobi: 3-Day Tsavo West Safari & Salt Lick Lodge Stay

Embark on a 3-day safari adventure from Nairobi to Tsavo West National Park. Stay at Salt Lick Safari Lodge, enjoy game drives, and spot wildlife at the waterhole.
Day 1- Nairobi to the Wild

Catch the morning SGR from Nairobi to Miasenyi Station. A short transfer brings you to Salt Lick, set on stilts overlooking a busy wildlife waterhole. After check-in and lunch, head out for your first game drive in Tsavo West. Expect red-dusted elephants, giraffes, zebras, and predators against the backdrop of the Ngulia Hills.

Back at the lodge, dinner is served as animals gather to drink under the floodlights—easy viewing from the decks or your room balcony.

Day 2- Full Day in Tsavo West

Start early with a morning game drive when the bush is cool and wildlife is active. Return for breakfast, then spend midday relaxing by the pool or watching the waterhole from Salt Lick’s elevated walkways.

In the afternoon, explore further into the park—Mzima Springs with its hippos and crystal water, the Shetani Lava Flows, and open plains dotted with acacia. After dinner, take time on the lodge decks for night viewing as nocturnal animals come in.

Day 3- Final Safari, Return to Nairobi

Wake for a sunrise game drive, your last chance to catch sightings in Tsavo West. After breakfast and check-out, transfer to Miasenyi for the SGR ride back to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon.
