Begin with a pickup from your Entebbe hotel and transfer to the Nakiwogo landing site on the shores of Lake Victoria. After a safety briefing and life jacket fitting, board a traditional canoe and set off through narrow channels lined with papyrus reeds, where the swamp gradually reveals its residents.

Your guide, a member of the local fishing community, has spent years observing the rhythms of this wetland and knows where the shoebill stork has recently been active.
