Meet your guide at Zurich Main Station and take a train to Amden. Begin your hike with a steady ascent through forests and alpine meadows, leading to the ridgeline. Traverse the ridge (weather permitting) and take in impressive views of the Glarus Alps, the Churfirsten range, and the deep blue lake below.
Descend via a different path for a varied circular route, and return to Zurich by early evening. Along the way, learn about local geology, flora, and alpine culture from your guide.
This tour is ideal for moderately fit hikers who enjoy peace, mountain solitude, and big scenery without the crowds.
