Day 1: Arusha National Park
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha. After a short safari briefing, drive to Arusha National Park, a small but remarkably diverse reserve located near Arusha town.
After completing the park-entry formalities, begin your game drive in a private 4×4 safari vehicle. Explore lush montane forests, open grasslands, the scenic Momella Lakes, and viewpoints overlooking the Ngurdoto Crater.
The park is especially famous for giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, waterbucks, blue monkeys, and black-and-white colobus monkeys. On clear days, enjoy beautiful views of Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.
At midday, enjoy a packed picnic lunch at a designated picnic site inside the park. After lunch, continue with an afternoon game drive before leaving the park and returning to Arusha. Upon arrival, check in at Kibo Palace Hotel Arusha.
The rest of the evening will be available for relaxation, dinner, and preparation for the early departure to Ngorongoro the following morning.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
After an early breakfast at Kibo Palace Hotel, meet your safari guide and depart for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey passes through beautiful countryside, local villages, farmland, and the highlands surrounding Karatu.
Upon arrival at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, your guide will complete the necessary entry procedures before driving to the crater viewpoint. From the rim, admire the spectacular landscape before descending approximately 600 meters to the crater floor.
The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most famous wildlife destinations and is often referred to as a natural wildlife sanctuary. Its permanent water sources and fertile grasslands support a large population of animals throughout the year.
During the game drive, you may see African lions, elephants, Cape buffaloes, wildebeest, zebras, spotted hyenas, hippos, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles, warthogs, jackals, flamingos, and other bird species. With patience and good timing, you may also spot the endangered black rhino.
