Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Begin your adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi. Travel in a customized 4x4 safari Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof and enjoy an exciting game drive through a landscape characterized by ancient baobab trees, open savannah, and the Tarangire River.
The park is particularly famous for its large elephant herds and also supports lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, antelopes, and numerous bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before returning to your accommodation in Moshi for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Materuni Waterfall
The second day begins with a scenic drive to Materuni village, located on the green lower slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, walk through coffee farms and lush vegetation to the impressive Materuni Waterfall. Along the way, learn about the traditions, daily life, and agricultural practices of the Chagga community.
After visiting the waterfall, participate in an authentic coffee experience that demonstrates how locally grown beans are harvested, dried, roasted, ground, and traditionally prepared. Enjoy a freshly cooked local lunch before returning to your accommodation.
Day 3: Chemka Hot Springs
On the third day, travel to Chemka Hot Springs, also known as Kikuletwa Hot Springs. This beautiful natural oasis is surrounded by tropical vegetation and features clear turquoise water supplied by underground springs. Spend time swimming, relaxing under the trees, or using the rope swing before enjoying lunch in the peaceful surroundings.
Although commonly called hot springs, the water is naturally refreshing rather than extremely hot, making it ideal for swimming throughout most of the year. After the Chemka experience, your driver will return you to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.
