Day 1: Departure – El Jem – Matmata – Sabria (Desert Camp)
Pickup at 6:00 AM from your hotel or residence. Begin a journey through history, culture, and desert landscapes.
First stop: El Jem, home to one of the world’s best-preserved Roman amphitheaters, a UNESCO World Heritage Site rivaling Rome’s Colosseum.
Continue south to Matmata, a troglodyte village. Stop at the iconic Sidi Driss Hotel, featured in Star Wars: A New Hope.
Meet local families and discover underground homes carved into rock. Enjoy traditional rosemary tea with honey and olive oil.
Photo stop in Tamazret, a Berber village overlooking the desert.
Lunch at a local restaurant en route to the Sahara.
Arrive in Sabria by mid-afternoon, where dunes open into the vast desert.
Settle into a desert camp for an off-grid experience.
Optional camel ride at sunset across the dunes.
Learn and observe traditional sand bread preparation under embers.
Dinner at camp followed by campfire stories and stargazing.

Day 2: Sabria – Chott El Jerid – Chebika – Kairouan – Return
Wake in the silence of the desert and enjoy breakfast at camp.
Cross Chott El Jerid, North Africa’s largest salt lake, known for mirages and vast salt plains.
Continue to Chebika oasis, where palm trees rise through canyon cliffs and water flows from rock.
Explore the abandoned village and hike to a hidden waterfall.
Lunch at a local restaurant before reaching Kairouan.
View the exterior of the Great Mosque of Kairouan (before 13:00), a key Islamic landmark.
Walk through the UNESCO-listed medina, filled with crafts and history.
Return to your hotel with lasting memories and photos.
