Discover the beauty of the Samaná Peninsula on a full-day trip. Visit the stunning El Limón Waterfall, enjoy a traditional Dominican lunch, and relax on the white sandy beaches of Cayo Levantado.
Embark on a full-day adventure to the beautiful Samaná Peninsula, Cayo Levantado (Bacardi Island), and the famous El Limón Waterfall. Swim in crystal-clear waters, explore lush mountains, and enjoy a delicious traditional Dominican lunch.

Start your day between 6:00 and 7:00 AM with pickup from your hotel in Punta Cana or Bávaro. Travel to the village of La Cañita, where you will board a boat to cross the bay toward the stunning Samaná Peninsula.

Upon arrival, hop on a safari truck that will take you into the mountains to visit the breathtaking El Limón Waterfall, one of the highest waterfalls in the Caribbean. Walk through tropical landscapes to reach the waterfall (we recommend wearing sneakers due to muddy conditions), or choose a horse ride if preferred. Enjoy time to swim, take photos, and relax surrounded by nature.

After returning to the dock, enjoy a delicious traditional Dominican lunch before continuing the adventure aboard a catamaran to Cayo Levantado (Bacardi Island). Relax on its white sandy beaches, swim in turquoise waters, and enjoy approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in this tropical paradise.

Finally, return to La Cañita, where your transportation will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.

Pick-up at your hotel in Punta Cana.
(Some guests are first picked up in smaller buses and then transferred to a larger bus for the main journey.)

7:00 – 9:30 AM
Bus ride from Punta Cana to Las Cañitas Port (approximately 2 hours).

Catamaran ride and whale watching
Sail through Samaná Bay while searching for humpback whales on the way to Cayo Levantado

The ride usually takes around 40 minutes, but it can vary depending on how long it takes to spot the whales.

Cayo Levantado
Enjoy about 2 hour on the beach.
(During Whale Season January to March, the stop at the beach is 1 hour).

Lunch
After the beach visit, a traditional Dominican lunch is served.

Safari truck ride
Travel about 40 minutes by safari truck through the countryside and small villages of Samaná.

Walk to the waterfall
You will walk approximately 20–25 minutes uphill to reach the waterfall.
Please wear comfortable shoes with good grip that can get muddy. Rubber boots are often available for rent at the entrance.
If someone insists that you must take a horse, you can politely decline, as walking is completely allowed.

Return journey
The return follows the same route:
Safari truck back to Las Cañitas port → boat ride → bus ride back to Punta Cana → drop-off at your hotel.

Important Note:
Whale watching in Samaná is available only during the official season from January to March. Outside these months, this tour operates without whale watching.
