Tbilisi: Gudauri, Kazbegi & Georgian Military Road

Join us on one of the most spectacular routes in Georgia and explore the breathtaking beauty of the Caucasus Mountains. This full-day tour follows the historic Georgian Military Road, combining stunning landscapes, ancient history, and authentic local culture.
Our first stop is the Zhinvali Reservoir, a turquoise water lake surrounded by forested mountains. This peaceful location offers incredible panoramic views and is one of the most photogenic places on the way to the highlands.
We then visit the Ananuri Fortress Complex, dating back to the XVI–XVII centuries. Overlooking the reservoir, this former residence of the Aragvi Dukes features defensive towers, beautiful churches, and remarkable stone carvings. It is the perfect place to discover medieval Georgian architecture and take unforgettable photos.
Continuing along the mountain road, we pass through Pasanauri, the homeland of Georgia’s most famous dish — khinkali. Here you’ll see the meeting point of the Black and White Aragvi rivers, flowing side by side in different colors.
Next, we head to the famous ski resort of Gudauri, where you will stop at the Friendship Monument. Built in 1983, this colorful viewpoint offers dramatic views over deep gorges and the Greater Caucasus mountains — one of the highlights of the tour.
The journey then takes us across the breathtaking Jvari Pass (2,395 m), one of the highest points of the Georgian Military Road, surrounded by massive peaks and alpine landscapes.
Our final destination is Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), a charming mountain town located at the foot of Mount Kazbek (5,047 m). From here, we switch to 4x4 vehicles and drive up to the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, standing at 2,170 meters above sea level. Surrounded by dramatic mountains and clouds, this is one of the most famous and spiritual landmarks in Georgia and a truly unforgettable experience.
Throughout the tour, you will have multiple photo stops, opportunities to taste local food, and time to breathe in the fresh mountain air.
