Discover the Funkerberg in Königs Wusterhausen – the birthplace of German radio broadcasting. An exciting journey through time (about 1 hour) through the history of radio, technology, and media.
"Hello, hello! This is Königs Wusterhausen on wavelength 2700."

With these words, a new era began on December 22, 1920: The first German radio broadcast was transmitted from the Funkerberg in Königs Wusterhausen. A military radio station developed into a place that changed the media landscape in Germany.

Together, we will explore the Funkerberg grounds with its historic buildings, former broadcasting locations, and technical facilities. You'll learn how simple signals became speech and music, why radio was initially an experiment, and how radio developed into a mass medium within a few years.
