Discover the wonders of Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks onboard a 4WD camp safari adventure tour. Enjoy 3 action-packed days of outback, nature, and culture-rich rock art sites in the Top End.
Experience the wild side of Australia’s Top End on an unforgettable 3-day Kakadu and Litchfield 4WD camping adventure from Darwin. Combining ancient Aboriginal culture, wildlife-filled wetlands, rugged bushwalking, waterfalls and nights beneath the stars, this small-group adventure takes you into the heart of the Northern Territory.
Journey by air-conditioned 4WD into World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park, a vast wilderness of sandstone escarpments, tropical wetlands, monsoon rainforest and ancient cultural landscapes.
Cruise the Mary River Wetlands at Corroboree Billabong, keeping watch for saltwater crocodiles and abundant Top End birdlife. Explore significant Aboriginal rock art at sites including Ubirr and Burrungkuy (Nourlangie), discovering stories and connections to Country represented within this ancient landscape. At Ubirr, climb to a spectacular lookout over the Nadab Floodplain towards Arnhem Land.
Then get off the beaten track. Venture deeper into Kakadu by 4WD and hike through rugged landscapes and monsoon rainforest in search of spectacular waterfalls and natural plunge pools. Depending on seasonal access, conditions and group fitness, you may explore Maguk, Gunlom, Jim Jim Falls, Motor Car Falls or Moline Rockhole. Cool off with a refreshing swim surrounded by towering escarpments and pristine wilderness.
Continue to Litchfield National Park, where spring-fed streams tumble over sandstone cliffs into picturesque swimming holes. Discover Florence Falls, Wangi Falls or Buley Rockhole, depending on conditions and accessibility, and see Litchfield’s fascinating Magnetic and Cathedral Termite Mounds.
Spend two nights at our permanent Kakadu campsite, surrounded by the Australian bush. Choose a traditional bush swag for an authentic night beneath the stars or a twin-share safari tent with beds and linen provided. Shared campground bathroom facilities are available.
Enjoy freshly prepared meals and get involved in the camping experience with your guide and fellow travellers. Guest participation creates a relaxed, social atmosphere – perfect for swapping stories after a day exploring beneath the Top End night sky.
With national park entry fees, wildlife cruise, guided bush walks, camping accommodation and most meals included, much of the adventure is taken care of. Travel with an accredited outback driver-guide who brings the landscapes, wildlife and stories of the region to life.
Designed for active travellers with a good level of fitness, this is not your average sightseeing tour. Expect rocky trails, tropical conditions, swimming holes, dirt roads, early starts and plenty of adventure.
