Discover the palace of the House of Savoy in the heart of Turin. Collect your ticket from our host, then explore the royal apartments and Royal Armoury with commentary in your language.
For centuries this palace was the seat of the House of Savoy, the family that ruled Piedmont and later became the first kings of a united Italy. Today it anchors the Musei Reali, a whole complex of royal rooms, galleries and gardens right in the middle of Turin.
Your visit begins at the meeting point, where our host is waiting with your ticket and your listening guide. Nothing is printed and nothing is paid on the spot. From there it is only a few steps to the palace gates.
Inside, you climb the Scissors Staircase into a series of state rooms dressed in gilt, silk, mirrors and painted ceilings. The Throne Room, the ballroom and the private apartments show how the court lived and how it wanted to be seen. The Royal Armoury follows, one of the finest collections of arms and armour anywhere in Europe, its long hall lined with mounted knights. From the palace you can continue into the Galleria Sabauda, with paintings collected by the Savoy over generations, and into the Chapel of the Holy Shroud beneath its extraordinary spiralling dome.
The commentary plays on your own phone in several languages, room by room, so you always know what you are looking at without waiting for a group to move on.
When you are done indoors, the Royal Gardens are open to walk through, and Piazza Castello is right outside. Most visitors give the complex two to three hours.

The palace is wheelchair accessible, with lifts to the main floors.
Allow two to three hours. Last entry is one hour before closing.
Come to Piazzetta Reale, the paved square directly in front of the Royal Palace, just off Piazza Castello. Look for the tall iron railing topped with the two bronze horsemen — the statues of Castor and Pollux — which mark the palace gates.
Our host stands beside the railing holding a white flag and is easy to spot. Show your voucher and you will receive your ticket and listening guide on the spot, with nothing to pay.
From here the palace entrance is only a few steps away, and the host will point you to the right door.
