The adventure begins at the cool basecamp. You'll be equipped with standard safety gear (helmet and boots) and given a short training session to master the ATV controls. An instructor will ensure you're comfortable before you hit the dirt.

The initial journey will take you along a path among stands of pine trees and typical mountainside vegetation. You'll experience exciting bumps as you traverse rocky tracks and muddy puddles designed to test your riding skills. The cool mountain air and the scent of fresh earth will accompany every step you take.

This is the most iconic moment of the trip. You'll be led to a mysterious cave mouth featuring a natural rock formation resembling the face of a giant, lurking gorilla.

After exiting the cave, the next challenge is crossing a shallow river that's the path of a cold lava flow. Here, you can perform some exhilarating splashing maneuvers. The expansive sandy terrain allows you to accelerate a little while gazing at the majestic peak of Mount Merapi in the distance.

The tour concludes at a vantage point offering a panoramic view of the steaming crater of Mount Merapi (if the weather is clear). You'll return to basecamp, your clothes stained with mud, but with the satisfaction of having bravely conquered the extreme terrain.
