Meet your local English-speaking guide at Myomu, the sculpture inside Sapporo Station, and start your private walking tour through the heart of the city.
Sapporo is a young city compared with Kyoto, Osaka, and Tokyo. In around 160 years, it has grown from a developing settlement into the largest city in Hokkaido. On this tour, you will see how the city has changed and discover what life in Sapporo is like today.
We will visit Sapporo's well-known landmarks:
* Former Hokkaido Government Office
* Sapporo Clock Tower
* Odori Park
* Sapporo TV Tower
* Tanukikoji Shopping Street
* Nijo Seafood Market or Susukino
As we walk, your guide will explain Sapporo's history, its grid layout, and how the city developed so quickly.
The tour also goes beyond the usual sightseeing route.
At the Kita 1-jo Sapporo History Photo Gallery, you can see old photographs of Sapporo and compare them with the streets around you today.
We will also introduce Minapa and talk about Ainu culture and its connection to Hokkaido.
Depending on your interests and the day's route, we may visit a Japanese department-store food floor, underground shopping areas, cafés, or restaurants inside office buildings. These are places many visitors may not find on their own.
Your local guide can help you understand Japanese menus, explain unfamiliar foods, and recommend local favorites such as Hokkaido seafood, zangi fried chicken, onigiri, ice cream, taiyaki, and Japanese sweets.
If you are interested in modern Japanese culture, we can also stop at places featuring gachapon, game centers, and other parts of everyday Japanese city life.
Because this is a private tour, the experience can be adjusted to your interests. Tell your guide what you would most like to see or try, whether it is history, food, shopping, Japanese culture, or local life.
The main sightseeing stops are planned in advance, but the route and time spent at each place may be adjusted where possible.
Food and drinks are not included. You can choose what you would like to try and pay for your own food and drinks.
Your guide will also take photos of you throughout the tour free of charge.
The tour lasts approximately 3 hours. The 9:00 AM tour finishes around 12:00 PM at Nijo Market, where you can stay for lunch.
The 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM tours finish around 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM in the Susukino area, where you can stay for dinner, drinks, or nightlife.
This tour combines Sapporo's famous landmarks with its history, local food, everyday places, and modern Japanese culture, giving you a different way to experience the city.

As this is a private tour, the pace and time spent at individual stops can be adjusted to suit your interests where possible. Any changes will be minor and will not remove or replace the main destinations included in your booking.
Food and drinks are not included in the tour price. Any food, drinks, or personal purchases are paid for by the guest.
Please let your guide know about any food allergies or dietary restrictions at the start of the tour.
This is a walking tour lasting approximately 3 hours. If you have any concerns about walking or your physical fitness, please let your guide know in advance. We will do our best to adjust the pace and include breaks where possible.
The tour takes place in light rain, but the route may be adjusted in case of severe weather.
Your guide will be waiting at Myomu, the white marble sculpture inside Sapporo Station, holding a sign with your name on it. Please look for your name sign at the meeting point.
