From Ulaanbaatar: Elsen-Tasarkhai 2-Day Camel Tour Joint Tour in Central Mongolia

2-day tour to Elsen Tasarkhai dunes and hidden Ovgun Monastery ruins, with a camel ride, scenic walks, and a relaxing return to Ulaanbaatar through rural Mongolia.
Day 1:
-Elsen Tasarkhai, part of the Mongol Els sand dunes, stretches for 80 km across central Mongolia. Surrounded by steppe, rivers, and forested mountains, it features a unique landscape where sand dunes meet greenery, with the Khugnu Khan Mountains rising to the north. A one-hour camel ride is included.
Ovgun Monastery Ruins
Located on the southern slope of Ikh Khaan Mountain, the ruins of Ovgun Monastery lie hidden among rocky mountains and dense vegetation, creating a peaceful and mysterious atmosphere. The site includes the remains of more than ten temple structures scattered across small valleys and hillsides. A small stream once flowed in front of the monastery, adding to its natural beauty.
The area is not easily visible from afar and can only be reached on foot or by horseback from nearby Zaluu Monastery (about 2 km away). This remote and quiet location offers travelers a chance to explore history and enjoy untouched mountain scenery.
Day 2: Back to Ulaanbaatar
After breakfast, we drive back to Ulaanbaatar. Along the way, we will stop for lunch and make several short stops to take photos, relax, and enjoy the surrounding nature. You will also have opportunities to observe the local lifestyle in the countryside. Arrival in Ulaanbaatar in the late afternoon or evening.
