The scenic area covers a total area of 102.8 square kilometers, including 77 square kilometers of water surface, with a shoreline of 540 kilometers, a reservoir capacity of 2.6 billion cubic meters, and an average water depth of over 100 meters. Yinghu was formed by the Ankang Hydropower Station dam impounding the Han River. It is an important water source conservation area for the Middle Route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, with water quality consistently maintained at National Class II standards. Islands are scattered across the lake like stars, earning it the reputation of "Shaanxi's Thousand-Island Lake."
