Depart from Tozeur for three days of mountain oases, salt landscapes, and Sahara dunes. Combine sightseeing in southern Tunisia with a night at Dunes Insolites Camp and a night at a desert bivouac, embracing the slower pace of desert life.
Day 1 — Mountain Oases and Overnight at Dunes Insolites Camp
Begin with pickup from your hotel in Tozeur. Discover the oases of Chebika and Tamerza, then continue to Midès to admire its scenery and enjoy lunch.
Cross the vast salt flats of Chott el Jerid, stopping for photos along the way. Visit the thermal spring at Souk Lahad before arriving at Dunes Insolites Camp in Sabria during the afternoon.
Receive a warm welcome with traditional tea, settle into your tent, and enjoy free time among the dunes. Optional activities are available at an additional cost, subject to operating times and availability: camel rides, quad biking, and 4×4 desert excursions.
As evening approaches, watch the sunset and try complimentary sandboarding. Enjoy folk entertainment and a demonstration of traditional bread baked in the sand, followed by dinner.
After your meal, return to your tent to relax or spend more time around the campfire beneath the starry sky.
Day 2 — Free Morning and Journey to the Desert Bivouac
Enjoy a relaxed start and breakfast at the camp. Spend the morning at leisure, choose an optional activity, or take the opportunity to walk through the palm grove. Quad biking is available in the morning.
After lunch, leave your large luggage in a secure storage area at the camp and pack only the essentials for your overnight desert experience.
Meet your nomadic team and the camels before setting off toward the bivouac. Travel on foot or on camelback, depending on your booked option, through the Sahara dunes.
Upon arrival, enjoy the peaceful surroundings and watch the sunset. Share a traditional dinner followed by an evening around the fire with your hosts.
Sleep in a nomadic tent or beneath the stars, depending on your preference and the weather conditions.
Day 3 — Desert Breakfast and Return to Tozeur
Wake up among the dunes and enjoy a traditional nomadic breakfast before returning to the camp.
Back at Dunes Insolites, collect your luggage and freshen up with a hot shower before departure.
Return to your hotel in Tozeur, crossing the landscapes of Chott el Jerid once again.
