Hike Ihlara Valley, explore an underground city and see fairy chimneys from Uçhisar and Göreme. Spend a night in Cappadocia with dinner and breakfast included.
Your journey begins at 07:00 in Ankara, where you’ll board a comfortable coach and enjoy a packed breakfast on the way. Your first stop is Lake Tuz, Türkiye’s second-largest lake, where a vast white salt surface stretches to the horizon and makes for unforgettable photos.
Next, arrive at Ihlara Valley, a deep green canyon carved by the Melendiz River. Follow the riverside trail on a guided walk, surrounded by towering cliffs, birdsong and rock-cut churches hidden in the valley walls. After lunch at a local restaurant, head underground to Kaymaklı Underground City, a multi-level maze of tunnels where entire communities once lived in hiding.
In the afternoon, Cappadocia’s famous landscapes unfold one after another. Admire the dovecotes of Pigeon Valley, take in panoramic views from the foot of Uçhisar Castle, the region’s highest point, and look out over a sea of fairy chimneys at Göreme Panorama. In Devrent (Imagination) Valley, let your imagination find animal shapes in the wind-sculpted rocks. Then watch local artisans at work in a traditional pottery workshop, and stop at a local winery to taste Cappadocian wines.
Check in to your hotel around 19:00 and enjoy dinner included in your stay. If you’d like, round off the evening with an optional Turkish Night featuring folk dances and live music.
On day two, wake early for the chance to see hot air balloons rising over the valleys at sunrise, either watching from the ground or joining a flight (optional). After breakfast at the hotel, the adventure continues: ride through Red Valley on an optional ATV tour among the fairy chimneys.
Then visit Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO-listed complex of rock-cut churches decorated with centuries-old frescoes. Enjoy free time in Avanos, a charming riverside town known for its pottery, where your guide can recommend the local specialty, testi kebab, cooked in a sealed clay pot. Your final stop is a stone workshop showcasing Cappadocia’s traditional craftsmanship.
Depart Cappadocia at 18:30 and arrive back in Ankara around 22:30, with a short dinner break on the way.
