A journey in which we will walk around Mount Tronador, sleeping in mountain refuges and enjoying its views from different angles and landscapes.
DAY 1: We will leave early from Bariloche for Pampa Linda, a place located 80 km from the city, at the foot of Mount Tronador. That is where we will begin our journey. Our first destination will be Laguna Ilon. We will cross the Alerce River via a suspension bridge and then begin to climb through the forest. From there, a steep climb begins for an hour and a half to two hours. The last part passes through a flat area surrounded by mallines and lenga forests until we reach Laguna Ilon. Upon arrival, we will be able to rest and enjoy the beautiful sandy beach. Later, a delicious dinner will be waiting for us at the refuge, and then we will go to sleep in shared domes, to continue our journey the next day.

DAY 2: After a hearty breakfast, we will begin the longest day of our trek. The trail winds through tall lenga forests and marshes, ending in a rocky area with stunted lenga trees. Once we have enjoyed the views, we will continue along the trail that will take us west for another hour through forests and pampas until we reach the scree slope that skirts Cerro Mar de Piedras. We will continue climbing until we reach the highest point, the "La Marca" pass. From there, the descent begins, passing through forests of lenga and coihue trees, and then climbing again up a spur of Cerro Constitución. During the climb, you will be able to see the Huaca lagoon in the distance on the right, surrounded by beautiful granite walls. We will continue on until we reach the refuge, where we will settle into our rooms and share a delicious homemade dinner. This day of the trek is the most spectacular, as throughout the route we will have amazing views of Mount Tronador, which will appear closer and closer, allowing us to appreciate the beauty of its hanging glaciers and long waterfalls of crystal clear water that cascade down from them.

DAY 3: After a hearty breakfast with incredible views at the Rocca refuge, we will begin our last day of the trek. A day with "a little bit of everything," but above all, incredible views and enjoyment of the biodiversity of the Valdivian rainforest. The trail, which is not very busy, descends north of the refuge, first through a forest of lenga trees until it comes out into an open rock field at the foot of the waterfalls that flow down from the melting Frías Glacier. From there, it continues along the Frias River, through terrain that is sometimes muddy in the middle of the Valdivian rainforest, until it reaches Puerto Alegre, on the southern shore of Lake Frías. There, we will take a catamaran that will cross us to the north shore of the lake, where a bus will be waiting to take us to Puerto Blest. There, we can enjoy breathtaking views and then take a larger catamaran that will take us back to the city of Bariloche, disembarking at Puerto Pañuelo in the afternoon.
